There may be a number of reasons why you don’t seek help when you should. You may find that your motivation is lacking and even something as simple as making a phone call can feel too difficult to do. Do the best that you can. Send a text, send an email or ask a friend or relative to phone up on your behalf. You might feel embarrassed about needing help. People around you, although well-meaning, may have given you conflicting advice, which only adds to your confusion. It is best to seek professional help from someone slightly removed from your situation. You may feel that you don’t deserve help or are beyond help. I can assure you that this isn’t the case. Many people feel like this especially when experiencing an episode of depression. There is professional help available and these thought patterns can be changed.
