If you manage to take the first step, although your underlying condition has not changed, you will feel slightly better as you have taken control of your mental health condition and you are no longer alone in dealing with it. A mental health professional can help you to see your condition and its effects more clearly and you will appreciate that treatment is available and that you have choices. I like to work in a collaborative way with my patients; I will tailor their treatment plan to accommodate their opinions and preferences. Trust yourself and trust those who want to help you.
